OK, What did i do wrong? i had to replace the shift shaft seal and inadvertently pulled the shaft from the lower unit. now, it appears that something shifted down below and i cannot reinstall the shaft. i cant even see any sign of teeth for a gear.
I hope i dont have to open up that whole lower propeller shaft area
i looked up a parts diagram and it shows the shifter cam with teeth on it but looking into the case, at what appears to be the cam, it has no teeth
