Honda or Yamaha

Hi all. I want to buy a new 4 stroke motor for my 17ft aluminum fishing boat. I have decided to buy either a Honda or a Yamaha. If any one out there has any advice on which one may be better and why, I would greatly apperciate it. The size that I am looking for is 50 Honda or 50 or 60 Yamaha.

both excellent engines. which one you can get the best deal, and who has the best service center in your area.

Deal and service for sure. I'd buy the one with EFI. Once you have fuel injection, you won't go back to carbs. Check Suzuki

the 06 and up EFI 50 and 60 yamahas are tough to beat in that range of 4 strokes.
but both products are good. I would find the best service center and go from there. all service centers that are factory sponsered have or should have fctory trained techs, ask to see the certificates of technical training completion. yamaha has 5 star which is a video course and 6 module courses that are done in kennesawGA or milwalki WI.
dont know if they have a west coast training facility open yet.
the 7th yamaha module is an arse whopper and not many techs that took it passed it.
