I have just mounted my 2006 honda 75 ob onto a new triumph hull with new honda gauges (fuel, mph & tach.) Guages were already installed on the boat by dealer. All gauges & lights work except the tach. Light does work on tach as does the odometer on the bottom of the gauge. Pole setting on the back of the meter recomended is # 2. I've tried using it and each of the settings on the back of the meter (1-6) with no luck (changed them while engine was running). Still can't get the rpm meter needle to move off 0. I'm out of ideas. Why are'nt you taking this back to the dealer that installed this engine? Is the charging system working?Do you have continuiity from one end of that remote harness to the guage panel?

Thanks for your reply. I normally would return it to the marine dealer that I purchased it from however he is almost 4 hours away by car and I'm trying everything I can before resorting to the return. I am working with him via email and the phone. It appears that everything else is working both on the harness and throughout the boat.

The pole settings are not actually recommendations. They are required positions dependent on the pole output of a particular engine....So you either have bad wiring, a bad tach or your engine runs off of a squirrel running on a wheel and is not using electrical pulses:)
