I just was under my boat when I noticed the zinc on the bottom of my Honda 50HP tilt mechanism. The zince is 95% intact but needs some sort of cleaning. Is is Ok to remove the zinc, wire brush it, and reinstall it using anti-sieze (grease) on the attaching bolts? My neighbor said that I should leave it alone until I replace it, but at that point, (maybe years from now) I won't be able to get the bolts out.. advice..
