Hello to all,

I'm a newbie to this site and to boat/motor restoration for that matter.

Great site folks with an overwhelming knowledge base.

I picked up a 1974 Evinrude 50 hp Lark on a 1964 16' Starcraft Starmist a couple months ago and am awaiting a manual before digging in to deep. I painted the hood over the weekend and while stripping the hood the seal pretty much fell apart as I removed the staples.

I checked my local dealer and as luck would have it, the part I seek is unavailable after 1996.

Does anyone kow where a person can sourse parts for this motor?

Thanks in advance,
Greg

Serial #C 56771
Model # 50473M

Couple places to check Greg.....search up Twin City outboards or SeaWay Marine. Both do business in old parts no longer available from BRP. Hope ya' find what you need.

If that doesn't pan out for you, you might luck out here:
http://www.wefcorubber.com/
25ft minimum order but they've got lots of profiles. Mcmaster-Carr has a few profiles too - perhaps something that will do.

I've been hunting the elusive "Big Twin" hood seal for my outboard. I'm half-thinking about getting wefco rubber to make me some.

You may also want to check your current seal against a seal for a newer cowling. I went to a dealer that had some seals in stock and we compared some up. We found one that looked just like it. He thought it was for a 1980 something motor.
