Hooking up DSC?

I have a Garmin 276c Chartplotter and a Uniden Solara DSC VHF.
They are both installed but not connected to each other. I can't find my manuals for either device. Is connecting them for DSC is just a matter of joining the color coded wires?

The manuals for both are likely downloadable. There are two wires on each device tht need to be connected, however, the color coding is not straightforward. You will also need to apply for a DSC ID and program your radio.

BTW - Your chartplotter may be capable of plotting boats via their position reports over the VHF.
