I probably have the same questions asked by hundreds before me but I will ask it anyway hoping to get more information. I have a 1988 JASON bass boat that I’ve been working on. So far I’ve rewired just about everything on the boat but the gauges, I recently changed outboards and installed I Merc black max 150 but I want to hook up the tach to it. Does anyone know how to do this?

Re: hooking up tach

Depending on the Switchbox that you have it may or maynot have a tach circuit on it. The tach lead can be hooked to one of yellow wires coming from the charge magnets to the rectifier. The tach will have to be set to the proper number of poles in order to get a correct reading.
