horiable day ...due to loss of stearing

well out on the water yesterday and everything seamed fine till the ride home .i had noticed that last weekend when leaving the canal that when the weel was in the straight position there was what seamed a void in the stearing but after on plain things were fine.now yesterday comming home i had good stereing when turned to the left and the back to zero but when turned to the right nothing the weel would just spin as much as you wanted to turn it .now my question is in the box behind the weel could it be possible that there are striped gears or somthing maybee a broken cable ... just woundering what i should look for. any and all help please .........

You have to get under the dash and engine hatch and look. It could b e as simple as the cable came out of the steering head or came loose at the engine end.

Have someone turn the wheel while you look.
