Has anyone modified the stock cover on a Horizon? I have a ’96 Horizon 200 DLX and while I love the boat, the cover leaves something to be desired. The problem is where the bow cover (for those not familiar, the Horizon is a bowrider) meets the cover for the windshield and main cockpit. With the front cover snapped on and prop up with the included pole, rain water drains down into the cockpit in between the port and starboard consoles. My thought was to have the two covers sewn together with extra material added to each side. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this or solved the problem in another way.

-FloatingCPU

Re: Horizon Cover Modification

I added 3 snaps and snapped the two covers together. My front cover also snaps to the walk thru windshield so I didn't have the big of problem.

I have had the same problems and thoughts with my 180 Horizon. I would love to know if you came up with a solution. Ed in Ct.

Re: Horizon Cover Modification

I have a 1988 Horizon 200 and while the bow and cockpit factory covers are nice, I use a semi-custom overall cover from bow nose to stern over the swim platform. With a pole to keep cover up enough for proper water drainage (pole in cockit area about 2 feet in front of motor cover). No water problems when it rains, its a one piece cover.

Mine is a 2000, and it has three snaps to attach the 2 together and a couple others to attach to the walk through frame.
