What FR said. If you want to be sure that it is really a fastwin, post the model number too.

Re: Horsepower Question

It looks like a cheapo fuel filter or water separator. If you have the glass filter bowl under the cowl, then I'd just take the filter out of the hose and problem solved. If it's leaking on the side of the filter without the hose clamp, then a hose clamp would cure the problem. I'd take it out though, it looks easy to break.

Re: Horsepower Question

Yes that looks like a filter. If you need it why not fit it under the cowl where it will be protected.

I dont like worm drive clips on small diameter hoses. Any joints that will be permanent should have double ear O clips crimped on and any that need to be undone would be better with nut and bolt type clips. IMHO

Re: Horsepower Question

Yeah we are putting new fittings on most of the hoses today, but most of them look fine because the motor is in excellent condition

Re: Horsepower Question

also, on the inside of th engine housing it says that 6 gallons of gas should be mixed with 2 pints of oil is this true because it seems excessive?

Re: Horsepower Question

mix is 24 - 1 gas to tc-w3 outboard motor oil. they were originally run of 30 wt motor oil prior to outboard oil.
