this may be a little odd but wasn't sure were else it would go. last season i rebuilt carbs and cut off the zip ties that were securing the fuel lines. i put the smallest hose clamps i could find in but it looks like crap. is there a tool you guys use to tighten the zip ties down as i couldn't imagine you could get them tight enuff without the help of something. anything, thnx

Re: hose clamps

They can only get so tight before they stretch and break. I found that a small crescent wrench against the head of the tie open just enough for the tail to go through and pull with a pair of pliers. The tie gun isn't expensive just doesn't fit where you need it sometimes. Make sure you have the right kind of ties as well, the ones with the radius on the head of the tie most boat shops carry them.

Re: hose clamps

btw you were reffering to the small diameter primer hose right? You are not going to use zip ties on a fuel supply line are ye'.

Re: hose clamps

The correct tie straps for the application come in a pack of 100 for around $20.00 from your dealer. Part #320107.
