To start I have a 87 4.3 cobra, rochester 2bbl.

I have the carb off right now to clean and rebuild it, All 3 screws that hold the black cover over the hot air choke spring snapped trying to remove them.

The cover has a real tight fit on its own, any reason i cant just zip tie it or a thin bead of rtv? I think I might make more of a mess of the housing trying to drill out the old screws.

Cheers!

Re: Hot air Choke Cap

Those screws broke on me too last time I did my carb. The choke was working fine so I didn't mess with it.

I think your ideas would work just fine, though.
