My hotfoot came loose from the floor and i was wondering how to put it back. Originally it was put in with 4 stainless screws and they stripped out of the fiberglass. I need ideas on how to mount it back down to the floor. Thanks

Re: hot foot

Buy a flat 1/8 inch thick aluminum plate thats slightly larger than the base of your hot foot. Drill and counter-sink six mounting screw holes in the plate that are outside the screw holes that are damaged. I know I said six holes. Thats so the screws don't pull out again. And use the next size larger screws. Then drill and tap the aluminum plate with the mounting hole pattern for you hot-foot. Use locktite on the screws and mount the hot-foot to the plate.

Re: hot foot

Make the plate so that your heel rests on it. Realize that pounding waves with your foot firmly planted on WOT is going to rip that thing out of any floor unless it's incredibly well planted. Wood screws ain't goona hack it no matter how many you use. It has to be Bolted down. The challenging part is finding a gap between the floor and the hull in the area you want to mount it. Personally I can't stand the goddam things!

Be sure you fill and of the screw holes with 3M 5200 or Marine Tex to seal out water from rotting the floor.
