I have a 225 Evinrude Ficht 2001 w/ close to 900 hrs. Ever since i bought the boat Ive only been able to run the engines for about 10-15 minutes and then portside engine completely cuts off like if the key was removed (no beeping at all) and will not start or turn for a good 10-15 minutes. And then I could do it all over again w/ same result.I pulled the hose that feeds water into the EMM, I let it run for about 10 minutes and theres no water coming out of the hose. Im able to blow air through the the EMM and the top & bottom hoses fine (no blockage). I even flushed high pressure water through the hoses and still no water flowing out.
Could this be that a only one thermostat is opening instead of both??
I've been struggling with this problem for while now and it's really getting old.. And I cant seem to find a mechanic that could work on this engine that i could actually trust. Any help on this matter would be extremely appreciated!
