I would like to install an hour meter
to my 1985 evinrude 120 v4. Don't know whether
it can be done on 2 stroke?.could it be wired to engine and mounted on cover, or run from remote
control and mounted on boat dash? Is there a special make or model of hour meter available
for 2stroke outboard. Any special wiring instructions needed? Thanx in advance for any knowledge on this subject greatly appreciated ! :)

Re: hour meter

Look Here:

web page

and here:

web page 2

Any hour meter will work. Just make sure it's wired only to something that comes on when you turn the key on.(Tach,Ignition Hot, for example)

Nosleep

Tiny Tach is a good source for an hour-meter. It will only register when the engine is running. It is compatible with 2-strokes.

Click This
