Hour meters

Can anyone tell me if hour meters on Four Winns Vista's are optional or standard equipment? Thanks.

Are you buying a Four Winns and trying to figure out if the hour meter is original and has logged all the hours?

I'd say an 80% chance it came with an hour meter.

BUT

nobody knows if it has ever been disconnected or replaced.

Don't need an hour meter. All boats for sale have less than 10 hours.

I am not sure about your boat, but I got screwed too with the hours.....
Mine stated 42 hours on it when I bought it last November...
Lets see.....
Boat is a 1988, so, 2009-1988=21 years old, 42 hours / 21 years = 2 hours per year. Sounds about right hugh. lol

Our Four Winns 268 Vista did not come with an hour meter from the factory. It was an option. You can have the ECM read with a scan tool, or laptop with the correct software (Volvo or Merc) and that will tell you the complete engine history, including engine hours.

Only way to do it. Meters can be disconnected and people lie.

Well they are standard now.

Hour Meters ARE NOT standard on all FW now. Most, but not all. For example the H180 does not have one as standard equipment.
