Household wiring on boat

I can't find any safety notices about how to do wiring on a boat. I'm replacing all the 40 year old wiring on the boat, installing an inverter and running everything 110 volt. Is exterior grade household Romex 14/2 ok to use with conduit and sealed exterior boxes? Will I be violating any coast guard regulations?
