I had recently purchased a 1990 Bayliner Capri in excellent condition. It came equipped with a 90 h.p. L-drive engine. The boat started right up I drove around for a couple days & loved it....then
I noticed that it the engine compartment had alot of exhaust & the engine would stall. I had taken it to a Marina & they showed me that the holes on the hold down plate were stripped...I figured not too big a deal...fix it. They have now told me that the repair could bbe in excess of $2,000 and that I would be better off scrapping the boat and getting a new one.

Could this be true??

What can be done with the boat??, the seats, body , everything is mint. Should I bother to repair the L-Drive?? Can a different engine be put in?? Is the L-Drive that bad??

I need help.......any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Bob
