Ok.. I have a boat that sat most of the year last year and through the winter.. I took it out for the first time this year and it ran great.. The second time.. Aweful.. I replaced the plugs and it appears to be running better.. Only thing.. It smokes like crazy.. My thought is that one, the gas sitting for so long and being old is bad.. So.. I tried to syphon the gas out to replace it.. That brings me to my first question.. Is there an easy way to siphon.. I obviosly got a few mouth fulls of gas, but still have a few gallons left and was hoping someone had an easier method of siphoning besides sucking with my own mouth..

The other thing.. Why would it smoke so bad? I mix a 50/1 like recommended be the manual... Could it have been the bad gas? And is it ok to mix it a little leaner...

Take the fittings off the end of your tank hose and use the primer bulb to get the gas flowing. You may have to cover the discharge end with your thumb while the bulb is sucking. This gas is way too old to use and was probably causing the smoking. I wouldn't mix any leaner.
