How difficult of a task is it to re-seal the outdrive on a 1995 Mercruiser Alpha one Gen II drive? I want to re-seal both the upper and lower.

is there a reason ya wanna reseal it?
i mean i'd like to reseal mine too on general principles. but when i pressure test it, i don't get any leaks. so i do nothing about it.. if ya got a leak. maybe pressure test it to see where it leaks. some seals may be easier to replace than others and require less tools. i've replaced one seal on my old 1 drive. had to buy a few tools, but got away kinda reasonable with it... if it'd have been much more dollars it'd have been close for a copy replacement drive in my case..

I've got a leak. I guess I'll just pressure test and go from there. I just wanted to re-seal on general principle instead of finding a leak here and then next year maybe another seal goes bad. Thanks

a pressure test sounds like a good idea to me. while i'm not familiar with your genII drive, i'd think that some of the same possible issues could apply to your drive along with mine. who knows, might be something as simple as 2 drain/vent plug seals being in place. sometimes the seal can get stuck on the drive, ya replace with a new seal and then ya got two and a leak. bellows go bad, letting water intrusion into that area, many times ruining the ft. seal of the drive. fishing line wrapped around the prop from what i understand can ruin the seal. i'm sure there's others too. but ya get the idea. might be something ya can deal with, w/o having to reseal the whole drive...

2 seal kits, 1 for upper, 1 for lower, that go for under $100, a few pieces of scrap metal, 3-4 hours in machine shop to make tools, and 2-3 hours to work on the outdrive. So 1 weekend and less than $100.
