How big of a gas tank?

Im building a 17' flat bottom dory with a 25hp engine(a 74 sea king). How big of a gas tank do you recommend? Mainly putting around the bay for a few hours. 6 gallon portable i was thinking. Any input would be great thank you, Mike

6 gal. should be enough.

If you're staying coastal I'd have a six gallon as a primary and a separate two gallon as a reserve.

2 sixes would be my choice.... but then I have 90 in my 21'... had 36 in my 17' McKee..

6 gallons should be plenty with a 25hp. I have a 115 HP 2-stroke and 2x 6 gallon tanks will let me run 15 miles and fish all day and get home with a few gallons to spare.
