What is your model? If it's a recent unit, the steering drag link, the Morse throttle/shift cables, and control box wiring "umbilical disconnect" are all that need to be disconnected. Of course, you will also want to disconnect the fuel line quick-connect.

On very early models, with 2-cable "tiller cable" steering, there is a single bolt that will release the spring-loaded cables from the front of the motor. On the MFS 8/9.8, the individual wires for the control box will need to be disconnected from the wiring block inside the cowl. They are color-coded, so reconnection is fairly straightforward.

If that seems daunting, you may want the services of a qualified dealer mechanic.
