Long before I got this 60 HP Johnson, the swivel bracket that has the I D plate had been welded on. Whoever did it, had to remove the plate to do the welding. Guess he didn't know how to put it back on. Reguardless, its gone & I need some parts. Actually, I already ordered some. I thought it was a 1985 because that's the first year the 60 HP came with the VRO? I matched some of the P/Ns on the engine to 85, but now I need the plastic gears in the remote control & those #s don't match. The parts guy at the shop needs a model # & said to look under the carborator. I didn't ask if it's a plate I'm looking for or stamps in the block. But I see nothing. I did find "18LJ 2" stamped in the top of the block above the water passage cover. Means nothing to me. Someone know of an easier way to find this info other than writing down a bunch of P/Ns & seeing what they're used on most?
