How did I do? Is it safe like this for a few days?

It is a 16 foot glastron with a 100hp merc. O/B.

I used 4x4 as the up rights, 2x4 on the bottom and 2x6 on the top. Then I cut 2x4's to go in between the 2x4 and 2x6. This should make the post now a 4x7.

The 4x4 off to the side are just for balance. The tires are just in case.

Should I add anything? Change the layout?

Overkill but safe. If your doing any bottom work, it's not a good design. You didn't say why it's on a cradle.

...but it's safe.

I took it off the trailer to have the trailer worked on. The marina near me wanted $550 to take the boat off and install new bunk brackets. I figured for that much I would try it myself.

Thanks to a lot of posts on this forum, it was actually pretty easy to do.

Wow! Overkill is an understatement. You trying to create a permanant stationary monuement?:p

btw, before you deconstruct that monuement, it might be a good time to paint your trailer as well. Yeah, $550 is a chunk of change for a few PT'd 2x6's and some indoor outdoor carpet. Be sure to soak the endgrain of the 2x's with Jasco wood preservative. Also use monel or SS staples to anchor the carpet and use SS lag bolts to bolt the board to the trailer brackets.
