How do i break loose a motor that may be froze

I have a 1979 140 merc 4 years ago it turned good with no prob the motor seemed in good shape it has sat since then and the starter will not turn the motor over i cannot spin prop even tried to pull start it was a great engine just sat could there be away to break it loose

Fill the cylinders with Break Free and let it soak for a week before you try to move it.

I would remove the gearcase, and see if that loosens it up. Sometimes the gears will rust up. if that isn't it, you likely have a bit of rust on the rings and cylinder walls. Spray penetrating oil into the plug holes and let her sit a while. Removing the transfer covers may expose the issue as well. if that fails, put a brass drift into the plug holes and tap it. It helps to know which cylinder(s) is/are rusted, so you know which to tap on.
After you get it loose, rotate the flywheel by hand to make sure it is not binding.

Remove the plugs and spray some kroil and let it soak for a day or two. It worked great for mine
