How do i catch (large) mangrove snapper??????

I catch smaller snapper all the time about 10 inches but I'm hopin to catch some bigger ones next time I go to a inlet. Shrimp will work great same with soft plastic lures on a jighead. What are some good rigs??

If anyone knew how to only catch BIG mangrove snapper instead of small ones they probably wouldn't tell.Most big mangrove snapper I've caught have been offshore on reefs or ledges.

I can't tell you how to catch snapper... I can only tell you how NOT to catch them...

don't EVER try to lip them like a bass... those sharp teeth will go right on through your thumb, even the thumbnail...

That's some good old fashoned experience talking right there.

the way i catch bigger mangroves inshore is to fish for them with bigger baits. if you can get your hands on some 4" greenies drop those around your favorite snapper structure. you may still catch some 10 inchers but youll get some big ones too if they are there.
