how do I check to see if alarm works on this johnson 225 1992

I removed VRO.<br />Just want to know if the alarm is still working. <br />How do I check?

If you are speaking of the overheat alarm ,locate one of the temp sensors and with the key in the "on "position ,engine not running,ground the tan wire to the engine block.Alarm should sound.
