The guy I bought the boat from had stored it in a welding shop in the off-season. The hole boat cleaned up well except the vinyl windows in the canvas top. They are quite yellow. I tried the first recomdation of soap and water, the went to Armoral cleaner, then tried SprayNine. The windows are twice as good as they were, but still ugly. If it was warmer here I wouldn't mind, but I still use the forward secton of the top to break the cold wind. Any suggestions?

They will only come back from the dead so far.If the are yellowed and you want them clear ,you will need to replace them.Been there ,done that! Charlie

I used a product called Mean Green I believe I purchased it a Dollar Tree store. It works wonders on most all plastic and vinyl.

Good luck

I have two suggestions,

try a motorcycle shop they sell stuff to clean the plastic windshields.

or try eastwood auto supply, they sell all sorts of hard to find tools and I know they see plastic cleaner for convertible window cleaning. They mus be on the web

Thanks, will try some of those cleaners, hoping all along that Crazy Charlie is not correct, but I suspect he is.

Saw the same question posted on another forum not long ago and a couple of guys claimed that Dolphinite Fleet wax would bring them back to like new condition. Have not tried this myself so take it FWIW.

Go to a marine store and ask for a spray cleaner called 210. I forget the mfg but it's made specifally for these windows. They also have another cream type cleaner that has a very lite grit to it that will take out scratches. You will be amazed at how well this works!

Re: How do I clean vinyl windows?

A Friend of mine purchased a 1968 rienell with a
full camper top a couple of years ago. It was
stored in doors and had always been trailered,
one owner very nice boat. Anyways the toper was
original as well and in very good condition only
problem was you couldn't see thought the clear
plastic windows age had yellowed the plastic. He
had tried several home cleaners he had around and
nothing worked. After deciding to get a new top
made, We just for the heck of it tried WD40 and
after a good wiping the windows improved to the
point that he didn't bother with the new top.
It still is clear. It worked so well I use it to
clean mine.No problems.

Your window problem isn't a cleaning problem,it's an age problem. If they're yellow and foggy, replace them. Don'ty wast time and money on restorers.

My Friend with the old top saved his money.
It might be easier to spend yours though.
Just my opinion.
