I am trying to get a 1980 boat with a Mercury 40 going. I have drained the gas tank which had a great deal of water in it and put fresh gas in it, flushed the line between it and the fuel filter, and removed the filter casing, which was half filled with water and cleaned the filter of sediment. Before i take it down to the lake, I would like to drain the bowl of the carb to remove any water that might be in there. How do I do that?

You will need to pull the top of the carb remove the float and either blow it dry or soak it out.

Thanks Laddies! I'll try it as soon as I get home.
