HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT TYPE OF IMPELLER THAT I NEED

Hello <br />I took my 6hp. sea king (1973?) too a marine repair shop and they could not find the serial number that is needed to order a impeller for my motor. Could anyone out there tell me where it should be or know the number or type I need. PLEASE HELP!!!<br /> Thank you in advance<br /> -----------------------

Hi Loonytoons<br /> Lets try looking for an ID plate inside cowl. On the lower starboard side to the rear. If in fact your motor is a 73 it was made by Chrysler. I dont know for sure but a lot of times manufactures will stamp #s somewhere on crank case. Look around the base where it bolts up to exhust housing. If you can find the ser# and mod# I might have the part#. Any way keep lookin good luck.

some impellers have a part # in one of the crotches between the blades, sometimes it is a good idea to have the old part in hand when replacing it. Just a guess, good luck.
