The Metal Insert Where I Put My Plug Is Loose. How To I Fix This?????? Or How Do I Replace This? Thanks
mine was the garboard type,I removed mine got everything dried out and cleaned out, resealed transom hole with fiberglass resin, and sealed the 3 screw holes with marine tex. reinstalled garber housing with 3m 4200 and drilled the 3 new holes, reinstalled the screws with 4200.
I Have A Rubber Plug. When I Turn It It Gets Tight But The Metal Insert That The Rubber Plug Goes Into Turns, The Insert Is Loose How Do I Tighten It Or Take It Out To Put A New One In? I Haven`t Been Able To Figure Out How To Get It Out Without Screwing Everything Up. Thanks.
I see that nowI think that was two seperate posts
Right here on Iboats!! Gary already gave ya the linkDoes it use the rubber plug or the brass screw in type?
The rubber plugs use a brass tube that is flared on the ends.
The screw in type ( garboard drain ) is held in place by screws.
Either way pull it apart, make sure its dry inside the transom.
If its the brass tube for the rubber plug you can buy a bew one and use 3M 5200 to seal it in place.
Look at these,
