How do I flush my Mariner 5-hp 2stroke?

This motor is approximately 1999. I have it as a kicker on my 17ft fishing boat. I got a 2004 Yamaha 40 4-stroke with a flushing attachment which works really well. It is really starting to bug me that I can't flush my kicker without taking it home. The boat is kept in a marina. The water in-take appears to be below the cavitation plate so the normal 'rabbit ears' won't do.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Buy the little screw in flusher that was designed for it.

Wow. Is this a Mariner part? Does my hose just connect to it? Where is it attached?

Thanks

The above flusher will not work on that model engine. There is a different flusher plug that you can get from any Mercury, Tohatsu or Nissan dealer that is designed for that model engine.

The error on the listing for the Mercury flusher has been in the Mercury catalog for 5 years that I know about....It fits the Mercury 2-stroke 6hp and above.
