how do I get the people to sponcer me

I wrote several people and never had any type of reponce even when ford didn't fix my bronco right I wrote dealer & ford motor conpany well it's responce was none ok <br /><br />I just like to know how people get OLN or ESPN to do there fishing stuff even espn2 for basscenter didn't even send me email back how to become a bass member, I have to be bass menber to be on bass tour right<br /><br />the way i look at it my ranger boat and my cabin boat and my truck and bronco, I think there not getting it

A sponsor like OLN or ESPN for example, will come to you, when and if you are worthy of that kind of endorsement. These types of sponsorships dont come easy. They are basically a reward for outstanding achievement. They want your name in the spotlight so they can make more money.

They will attach their name to yours when your name means something to a specific community, to they can market you to advertisers.

You cant just ask for sponsors you have to earn them in tournies. I dont want to be an ***, but if you wrote a letter to them like you wrote on here they prob. just threw it out. It takes years of hard work and you have to be able to sell on TV or at trade shows, etc.

yes they looked at it, file 13 yes trash can it well I know Ranger boat didn't, they helped me with seat because of my dead relation<br />Cen-pe-co oil dealer's said they would help with oil, because I was doing there testing on outboard motors and boats, before I got the bass boat <br /><br />but this isn't enough,I think

Mike Iacconelli has a good book out, Fishing on the Edge and he talks quite a bit about becoming a pro angler in it. Great book even if you don't want to go pro.

Thank God people on these forums don't continually nit-pick members spelling and punctuation. If they did, it would be nothing but "spelling police" posts around here. <br /><br />BUT....<br /><br />If you're email letters are anything like your posts, then there is no wonder why you don't get responses. <br /><br />I had to work at understanding your first post, and then your second post "..yes they looked at it, file 13 yes trash can it well I know Ranger boat didn't, they helped me with seat because of my dead relation..." makes on sence at all. You probably understand it, but we don't.<br /><br />I suggest you write the letter in Word and spell check it, then have someone else proof read it for content and readability, then send it off. That will go a long way toward getting a response. <br /><br />You obviously have a PC at your disposal. Use it to produce a business like letter.<br /><br />Just something to think about.

Gatorred,<br />Work your relationships that you have and build new relationships with others. Go to events where you will meet potential sponsors. Start small, don't ask for the world at first. When your name is bigger you can ask for more.

You havnt said anything about the experience you have behind you.<br /><br />I have Bass fished for about 40 years and I would have a hard time convincing anyone to sponsore me in any tournaments, even local ones and I actually think Im a decend fisheman and have a small amount of guiding experience behind me.

I just got my boat last year and had gave a camp area a year notice I was leaving,Cen-pe-co had a year of oil testing and running, with three boats a ranger 361 v with evenrude 150 xp,a 14 ft thunder with a merk 50, and a 14 ft greatlakes with 9.9 johnson they wanted number of hour's running and report how they ran, compared to regular oil base products, there's is de waxed parfin base and get stiff when cold but it normal temps work's well <br /><br />bass fishing wasn't my thing it was trolling for lake trout, speed wasn't needed <br /><br />I could get most the bass I wanted two a day was all that i could get converation area there, were all good meals,ps i was watching the camp and testing oil <br /><br />but bass tour i know five is limit and weight like five lb's or more, five lb's all i got in canada it just me <br /><br />I know I not going to jump into tour, like drag racing you start small and go up, I wanted to try northern tour <br /><br />ps it ranger 361 v with jackplate and newly redone evenrude 150 xp running on 89 or higher and new troling motor 24 v and hummingbird fish finder and death sounder made indash, hotfoot and live wells <br /><br />have spare motor and parts and truck and camper<br />to<br /><br />the truck and camper was got for computer repair shop that I could go to area's that people wanted me to do like Utah,nebraska there not close to pa, I have bronco for pulling 20 ft cabin boat I got for charter too!

G! Let me help if I can. The first step is being consistant in local tourneys. Save newspaper clips of high finishes, save flyers passed out at touneys with finishes listed, tour magazines you may fish will have results posted (such as Superbass, Team Supreme, BFL, etc. To become sponsered you must first be noticed. Join a local group, popular local trails, fish bigger local opens. When you do this and do well the tourney operators will interview you, radio coverage may be there, tell them what you caught fish on, what boat you use, rods, reels, line, etc. Spounser reps are probebly there. They like to hear people talk of there products. Once you do this even local businesses come into play. Talk to people slowly tell them you could wear there logos on your shirts in higher profile touneys and boating events! Its almost free advertisement and remind them of this.Good luck.
