I am trying to take the windshield off my old 70ish Crestliner Muskie. It is a rather typical looking flat plate aluminum channel bowrider setup with the two triangular panes on the sides. I have taken the front panes out by taking the top channels off and removed the rubbers, but I can't find the screw heads that fasten the lower channels to the deck. Under the deck there is only narrow strips of plywood with the points of the screws sticking down through. Where are the heads of those screws?

I have to get the windshield off tomorrow because I have already called the wrecker to come and take it away on day-after-tomorrow. The windshield is the only good thing left on the hull and I would like to save it. Advise needed

The screws are inside the molded track...... you "might" be able to slide the entire assembly left or right and find the "wide" spots for the screw heads. If all else fails dremel the bottom of the screws off and you will see what I am talking about.

It is made to slip over a screw head then slide sideways ........ the triangle vent probably stopped it from sliding.

I tried sliding the lower channel, but that did not work. While I was wiggling the channel, a strip of black plastic (which kinda looks like a piece of electrical tape) on the exterior face of the channel popped off. The plastic strip covers the heads of the screws. The channels were also fastened to the hull with clear two-sided tape.

Thanks for the help!:)
