I am going to replace my throttle cable and was goining to to put a hotfoot in too. should I buy a cable 2 foot longer than the one that i have now (stock cable) ? First you'll need to decide exactly where you're going to mount it.

Then figure out how you're going to fasten it (hint - don't put screws through the hull). If you'll be screwing into a wood deck you should seal the holes with 3M 5200.

As far as cable length, nobody's going to be able to answer that except you. Put the HotFoot where you want it and route a length of something (nylon tubing, weed-eater string, etc.) to your existing cable and figure out how much longer it needs to be. Be sure to avoid any sharp bends. You'll probably also need to fasten it down in a couple of spots with Adel clamps.

After it's all installed the fun really starts with adjusting it. There's nothing really difficult, just some trial and error with getting the stops set at both idle and wide open.
