how do i know if the stator is bad in a mercury boat engine

If you've proved the coil (and associated wiring) is good, then the only other thing that can cause a single cylinder to stop firing is the switchbox...

Here is schematics to test that pack, likely diode failed from bad ground on coil or coil internal ground bad..

thanks buddy i fixed the problem it was a damage ground for the 2 of the coils. problem resolve.

hello im trying to connect my rpm gauge . i have a 1984 mercury 75 hp. can anybody give me info on what wires to connect. i will be very thankfull

1984 75 hp mercury with stalling problems after 10 min

hello my name is falcon. im haveing a problem with my motor. when i run my boat in the first 10 min runs excellent! but after those 10 min the motor lowers from 5000 rpms to 3000 rpms then it stays like that for a few . then it out burst back to 5000 rpms back to its origal speed. i belive its a electrical problem. i have rebuilted the carbs change the spark plugs new gas filter. i also ran the boat and tryed pumping the gas to see if maybe it could be the fuel pump but no change. can some one help me with this problem or give me an idea. i also took of the trigger switch and seen that one of the wires was crispy then i cut it off all the way to the plastic and seen that there was a peice still good enough to conntect a new wire so i did. i have spark on all four cyclinders. then i said it should be good. what do think is the problem to my motor?
