I'm assuming there's a boat on the trailer you want, so if your trailer is built with the fenders attached to the outside of the frame, like the one below, measure the distance between the tires, then measure the distance between the tires and the outside of the frame (where the fender is attached) and do the math. Notice also how the fenders on this trailer slant outward from the frame, to contour to the shape of the boat, making the distance at the top of the fenders wider than at the attachment point.
If the trailer has carpeted skirts on the inside of the fenders to protect the boat, take the thickness of those into consideration also.
