How do I remove these *($#@$*@ seats?

Folks,

We recently bought a 1957 Starcraft 14' Speed Queen. She's in beautiful condition, but we want to take her back to mint original condition. The previous owner put in flip seats on top of the original bench seats, and we want to remove them (and sell them--they're like new!).

Problem is, we have no clue as to how to get them off! They fold down when not in use, and can swivel 360 degrees. We've identified the brand, Big Man Bass Boat Seats. There are probably plates or something below the new seats which they attach to, but we have no clue how to go about removing them, and searching the internet has turned up nada.

Here's a link to the kind of seats: http://www.boatingseats.com/Boat-Seats/372-High-Back-Folding-Boat-Seat.asp

Here's a few pictures of them on the Speed Queen:

Any help on how to remove these seats will be VERY welcome!

If possible take a look under the seats - might be a way to get to them from there. If all else fails give the company a call. But I'm sure someone here can tell you how.

The swivels are bolted/screwed to the seat and boat. Look under the seat to figure out how they attached the swivels to the original seats. If you are lucky they used bolts so you can get under there with a wrench to remove the swivel.

there is a swivel base, that is screwed(bolted) to the wood and screwed into the seat. it will take an open end wrench, and patience to get them out. i think i would go for the seat hex screws first, you may have to loosen all four screws and then wedge the seat up some to get them all the way out. turn the seat on 45 degree angle to access bolts.

Wow, you guys are great! Two seats out, two to go, but you're right, it's a miserable process! Thanks for the suggestions.

There is a chance the seats will lift off the base if you pull the lever and lift.
The base may have been attached to the wooden seat and then the seat installed.
