how do I remove tilt-trim?

Have a Johnson 115hp, 1977. The power tilt-trim is going to need repair.

Can these units be removed with the boat on trailer? Or, is it lift the engine off the boat and them remove?

I think the motor and lines and cylinders will come off without removing the engine, at least it says so in googling.

Direct answer is YES
Remove it from the port LEFT side by removing the bracket the rest is common sense stuff..
