I have a 1965 5HP Eska, dead coil, bought new coil but cannot get the old one off, is it pressed on or glued on?? Hope someone can shed some light on it as I don't want to break anything. Thanks in advance.

Don't have an Eska coil in hand to look at but most coils are retained by a steel spring shim between coil and the laminate plus one of the outer laminations is often bent at a 90 degree angle to act as a retainer.

Make sure it isn't held on by some sort of a clip as just described. When you are sure it should slide off, but is "stuck", take a hacksaw and cut down through the coil, till you come to the laminations. Now that it is split open like a clam, it will come off.
