How do I reset the idle screw after reassembling the carbs?

1988 90hp 3 cylinder Merc. <br />Anyone have experience resetting the idle screw after reassembling the carbs? What steps do I take & how do I know when it's set properly?

First turn them completely clockwise until thay are closed all the way, then turn each one back 3/4 turn. Start your engine and adjust each one listen only for sputtering and backfire. Turn back and forth until all sputter is gone

Gudelines for 1-3 carbs<br />Turn them in untill lightly seated then turn out 1 1/2/- 2 turns out each. Crank it let it warm up<br />Then turn them in(one at a time) untill stumble then Quickly 1/2 turn out. After you do all of them turn out 1/4 turn more. Then set idle speed.<br />If it boggs down in water turn each one out 1/8- 1/4 turn untill you get good hole shot. Tim
