How do I start my 1994 Johnson 112 correctly?

I have a 1975 Mako with a 1994 Johnson 112. The motor was rebuilt by a local shop in may. The started it for me and I had it on the muff in early June. Buy I really wanna know what the correct way to start it?
I have the push key in choke. And a Morse top mount control.
