Four connections on the tach. Ground goes to the ground terminal of any other instrument or the ground buss. +12V from any 12V circuit thats active with the ignition switch ON. The light terminal can connect to the light terminal on any other instrument. The "Sense" terminal is the tach signal from the rectifier/regulator.
Typically the tach signal is sent through the grey wire in the harness, up to the remote control. Does your remote control system have the external connection point for the instrument cluster wiring? Likely depends on what type of controls you have.
In all likelyhood yes it will work. They are pretty much universal now. The Faria website states that the 7000rpm models are for outboards and the 6000rpm models are for I/O or inboards. You will need to set the selector switch on the back of the tach to match your motors specific ignition system. Faria has a good reference section on their website. Got my Faria tach off e-bay for $26.00 brand new. Might want to take a look and save yourself some money.
