Utter novice here, so if I have posted in the wrong forum let me know. Have an '87 Celebrity Calais with a 200hp I/O Mercruiser. Earlier this year, before we even knew we would be buying this one, I purchased a Mercury 9.9hp for our small fishing boat. Sold that with the old 6hp Evinrude, now I'm sitting with a brand new motor and would like to mount it on our Calais and control it from up front. Would like to use this for trolling. What do I all need to accomplish this? Control box, ezsteer, wiring harness and electric start? Any advice greatly appreciated.

In a nutshell, you will need a bracket to mount the outboard on attached to the back of the boat, your EZ steer system for your drive and outboard combination, a throttle shifter control and cables to fit (electrical cable is part of the control), decide if you want to come off your original battery or a new battery for the starting, plumbing the fuel from the main tank or a remote tank.

There are many OB brackets on the market, you'll just have to make a decision on which is the right size for your motor, lift it has, etc. and how you mount it to the boat. From there, the rest is easy and usually in the install manual of the engine for fuel and electric.
