How do the OX66 injection/ignition systems work?

Does anyone know if there is any literature or websites available that explains OX66 Yamaha fuel injection/ignition theory? I have a running issue with my 2000 250 OX66 but don't fully understand how everything works. The Yamaha manual lists specifications and test values, but not a description of how the system operates. I would like to understand how what I am testing actually works.

Find an established dealer and ask to read the 1997 Marine Technical Guide that is given to the mechanics when they attend the annual service update seminars.

If I remember right, there was a good description and explanation of the fuel injection system. I believe there is another technical publication that a dealer can access online through the Yamaha Dealer site about fuel injection, also.

only God and Rodbolt really knows how these motors work, maybe Rodbolt would explain it to you... Good Luck!

What is the issue your having? I've got a pair of 1998 250's, and between the pair I've run into about every known issue (and solved largely thanks to Rodbolt).

jwbergeron, I have a very rough running, shaky port engine. I know there are a million things that can cause this that can all be diagnosed through systematic testing, but I'd just feel better going into the process with some knowledge of how the system works.

it aint really avalible however I have posted most all of it.
however reading through my posts will make us both realize I need a life.
mostly it works very well.
if ya really wish to stump the chumps ask what a code 9 is.
I know,yamaha doesnt and I aint tellin
