How can I tell if my alternator is marine rated and not for a car?

after looking at the link you posted, I am almost sure its not marine.

If it's not, and you have an enclosed engine compartment, you have a "bomb" waiting to go off.....

All you need is the right amount of fuel:air mixture in there and a spark.:eek:

Let your conscience be your guide....


(You should change your alternator. Check the starter and distributor too!)

Thanks Rick, the starter and distributor are marine rated. Ill get a marine alternator.

How long has it been since those spark plugs were changed? They look pretty rusty.

I bought it like that already. I plan on doing a full tune up soon.
