run the carb out of fuel at the end of each day(run), to keep it clean longer, use sea foam and I use NON- Ethanol fuel only ?????

good lines, water separator ( if you can), good fuel filter is a must.

do a 4 hour bath once a year ?????

What evidence convinces you that E-10 is the problem, Handle?? We have been using that stuff for 20 years.

Re: How do you combat E-10?

Here in the New England area they switched from MTBE to Ethanol back around 2006. I just got my new motor around then so I don't have hard evidence. I just know my carbs are clogging up much sooner than they should be. Granted I don't run the boat that often. I treat all the gas ,have a fuel seperator and flush the tank every year as best I can. Dealers and indepedents alike have both stated that un-treated E-10 has a shelf life of 30 to 60 day if not used. Hard to believe. In an open vented gas tank system ethanol will absorb water up to a certain point before it then phase seperates. I don't have all the facts but I am just trying to better understand the situation at hand. I am all ears.

We have a hell of a time with our lawn care equipment, more so with the trimmers and other hand held stuff. We were given an additive to use or our warranties would be no good (how they can tell I don't know) its called star something or other. It comes in a bottle like StaBil but almost aqua in color. I just use StaBil in the boat and use 93 octane.

I also use to run the 93 octane but in talking with the Dealer he stated that the motors were tuned and desiged to run on 87 octane, unless other wise stated.

you cannot run all of the fuel out of carbs lines and pump, so don't try.
even draining fuel bowls leaves fuel in lines and pump to dry up and leave residue to plug jets and passages when primed and fired up again.

Treat fuel when fresh and run often

I believe the last poster was talking about Startron, and Stabile makes an ethanol fuel treatment marine formula

Use stabil or startron in every tank religiously and you'll be fine.

How about you just dont buy it. Buy recreational fuel and use fuel treatment and you'll be good

There is a version of Stabil for ethanol fuel in marine engines. Give that a try.
