I really don't know. HIN were not required prior to 1972 and you would have to base it on old registrations.

Does that mean that if built 1972 or after the year would be on the HIN?

Yes the last two digits of the HIN are the year. Please do not duplicate posts

So, if the HIN is only a 6 digit number (S66015) the craft is pre 1972 (with meaning to only the manufacturer). That narrows the gap a little.

Hopefully the seller will find the registration or title which I orgiginally suggested he could look at determine the year.

Only a moderator can delete it.

Yes it is more than likely a pre 1972 hull if in-fact that is the only number.
