I was wondering if there was a way to determine if my stator is bad on my boat. I have a 1987 Thompson with a 3.0L 4Cyl 165Hp MerCruiser with a sealed system and was getting power everywhere at the voltage regulator but coming from the stator. I pulled off the cover and was wondering if there was a way to determine if the stator needs to be replaced or any other suggestions?

tips suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

" I pulled off the cover "
Harmonic damper??If the stator is green from being under water, heat damaged(melted/discolored) ,a ohm`s reading on either leg to ground, no continuity between the leads,no voltage output on the stator leads.More likely it`s the water cooled reg. thats bad.
