How do you open 1988 Mach 1 electric engine deck lid when the battery is discarded?

I cannot charge the battery because I cannot open the engine cover. I thought at one point it started to make a noise but then I have tried putting a charger in a Positive and Negative wire and it have been charging for 2 days now. Is there a way to unhook the latch?

There are supposed to be external terminals strictly because of that. Most are covered or tucked under a seat, in a compartment, etc. If not, you'll have to find a way thru the bulkhead into the engine compartment.

Thank you so much for the reply. I actually tried jumping it buy the dashboard but the battery was so low it would not open. I just forced it up and screws on the mount came off.
